Blessed Piecemakers

Members of the “Blessed Piecemakers” at Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church recently created beautiful, colorful quilts for Project Linus who distributes the quilts to needy children in shelters and hospitals in the local area. Crochet Group

The blankets and lap robes crocheted by this group have gone to First Steps, Hill District, a pediatric clinic in the Allentown/ Beltzhoover section of the city, Beth-el Farm Worker’s Ministry in Florida, Bundle of Joy Project on Federal Hill, Providence, Rhode Island, Veterans of Southwest Pennsylvania, and the Masons as an outreach of love. The group typically meets on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm September through May and once a month in the summer. The contacts are Mary Kuzma and Ruth Von Hollen.

Women’s Breakfast

The women from Newlonsburg gather for breakfast, a devotion, fellowship and prayer time on Tuesday mornings. From September through May, the group gathers in the Adult Meeting room from 8 to 9 a.m. Turns are taken cooking, leading devotions, and doing dishes. The contacts are Henny Gilcher and JoAn Paul.

Men’s Breakfast

The men of Newlonsburg meet the second Saturday of each month September through May for breakfast. Breakfast is served at 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. This informal group requires no reservations,
just a desire for a hearty breakfast and good fellowship. Any man is welcome, member or not. Sometimes there is a program and sometimes just good conversation. It is a good way to get to know the other men of Newlonsburg. The contact is Carl Vernon.

Supper for Eight

Supper for Eight is an opportunity to get to know other church members. Groups of 8 (4 couples or a combination of singles and couples) meet at the home of a host. They share a delicious meal and good conversation in a relaxed setting.

Grownups

Grownups is a social group that organizes outings to plays, ballgames, etc. and celebrations at members homes for holidays and special events. The group consists of all the adults of NPC.
