Co-Coordinator/Publicity Team Leader
Kate Montgomery has enjoyed being involved in MOPS for over two years. Growing up in Indiana, PA, Kate now resides in Export with her husband of 4 years-Brett, and their toddlers, William (05/’07) and Luke (10/’08). Kate is a Doctor of Chiropractic operating her practice in Murrysville. Her undergraduate prerequisites in biology are from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Indiana, PA) and her Doctorate of Chiropractic is from New York Chiropractic College ( Seneca Falls, NY). As a member of Newlongsburg Presbyterian Church, Kate is especially honored to be a founding member of this MOPS group. In addition to spending quality time with her sons and husband, Kate enjoys walking, photography, watching movies, reading, and exercising.
Co-Coordinator
Anna Frye has passionately served as coordinator since Newlonsburg MOPS launched in 2008. She is mom to Seth (2003), Rachel (2005), and Rebekah (2007) and is wife to Craig (married in 1998). Anna’s heart’s desire for MOPS is to see moms encouraged in their role as mom and in their relationship with God. Her vision is that MOPS would be a unique community of moms known for its love, acceptance and excellence. Anna earned a BA in Communications Media/Journalism from IUP. She enjoys MOPS, reading, writing and spending time with God, family and friends. Her favorite quote is, “We must be ready to attempt something so great for God that unless He intervenes, we are bound to fail.” A favorite Bible verse is from Exodus 9:15-16, “I (God) have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Discussion Group Team Leader
Melanie K. loves being a stay-at-home mom with her two daughters. She’s been married 6 years and lives in Manor Borough, PA. She is an active member at Monroeville Assembly of God and loves doing women’s bible studies and spending time with her family.
MOPS Mentor
Nancy D. is a member of the MOPS Steering committee and very active in the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church. Nancy is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and taught in the Gateway School District before starting a family. Her second career and most rewarding was a stay at home mom for 17 years. For the last 20 years, Nancy alias Miss Nancy, has been working with children ages 3 through 6 at the CCAC Boyce Campus Child Development Center where she is presently the director. Nancy and her husband John reside in Murrysville and have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. (The light of my life.) Her responsibility at MOPS is finding mature Christian moms to serve as mentors.
MOPS Mentor/General Leader
Rev. Marnie Silbert is Associate Pastor of the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church where she has served for 29 years. She is the parent of 2 young adult women, one of whom is pursuing her PhD in history and the other of whom is working at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Marnie is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with Bachelor degrees in Botany and History and has a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Her ministry has included Christian Education and Youth and she has special training in pastoral care, and family systems. She has directed “Moms & Tots camp” at Pine Springs Camp, worked with special needs families, taught all ages, led a single parent family group and mom’s Bible study and regularly spends “children’s sermon time” with pre-schoolers. Her hobbies include sewing, gardening, and reading.
Finance Team Leader
Christy M. is excited for the start of her third year in MOPS! Originally from Dayton, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!), Christy first moved to Pennsylvania while studying at Grove City College, where she met her husband, Tim. They moved to the area in 2003 and currently live in Delmont with their two daughters, Abby and Kate. Christy is active with Crossroads Church, in Delmont, and many weekend accompanies her husband to dog agility shows where he competes with their two Shetland Sheepdogs. Christy also enjoys spending the small amount of free time she has doing home improvement projects and crafts, playing games, reading and baking.

Creative Activities Team Leader
Karen K is originally from Jennerstown, Pennsylvania but moved to the Pittsburgh area to attend Pitt Pharmacy School in 1996. During her years at Pitt she met her husband Mark who is also a pharmacist. They were married in October 2001 and currently reside in Murrysville. They have been greatly blessed with two sons Ryan (in 2008) and Adam (in 2010). Both Karen and Mark are employed by Medco, a mail service pharmacy in North Versailles. Mark and Karen attend Cornerstone Ministries, where they have been members since 2011. Karen’s hobbies include exercise, time with family and friends, and of course, MOPS.
MOPPETS Team Leader
Erlene K. is the Moppets Coordinator. She has lived in Blairsville with her husband, Don, since 1974. They have 2 married children and 3 grandchildren.
Over the years she has been a babysitter, volunteer in a preschool and public school. She has been a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance church in Homer City since 1975 were she has been a Sunday school, VBS and AWANA teacher. Her life has been surrounded by children. She loves spending time with her family and friends.
