Beginner-Intermediate woodwind and brass students are invited to learn the basics of jazz improvisation.  Specific course dates to be announced for June and July 2012.  Modal Scales, Jazz Theory and Chord Progressions will be explored.  Additional educational materials may be required.

This course compliments middle and high school music technology classes and GarageBand users and will help anyone interested in getting better results from a desktop or home project studio.  It also serves those students considering a career in music production and technology.  This course covers: selection and proper use of microphones, basic acoustic concepts, how to use effects like reverb, equalizers, compressors and digital delays, production techniques that help you capture the very best musical performance, and how to use Pro Tools the industry standard in recording software.

Flute, clarinet oboe and saxophone students that are entering grades 8-10 in the fall are encouraged to participate in this workshop to further develop sight reading skills, ensemble awareness and intonation tendencies.  All music and materials will be provided.
