Music at 8:30 Worship Service

Our 8:30 service is held “family style” in our Fellowship Hall, where traditional row seating is interspersed with tables that facilitate enjoyment of available coffee and donuts. The music styles at this service range from contemporary worship music, to accapella vocal music, to meaningful pop music, to traditional hymns. Music for this service is lead by a mixture of volunteer ensembles, organized by our 8:30 Music Director, including:

  • Small Vocal Ensembles
  • Youth Brass Ensemble
  • Adult Band
  • Regular Guest Musicians such as Rock Guitarist Doug Edgell and Bass, Woody Brown
    • Youth Band
    • Liturgical Dancers
    • Clarinet Choir
    • Instrumentalists

These groups are open to all who have an interest in music and participating in worship. These ensembles are the focal point of our 8:30 Service Music Program. We enjoy our fellowship in preparing for worship as much as we do the music we are preparing.

The Adult Band, Small Vocal Ensembles, Clarinet Ensemble, Youth Bands, and NPC Musicians meet on an as-needed basis to prepare for the 8:30 services in which they will participate. Anyone interested in participating in one of these groups is most welcome and should contact the church office.

The Youth Brass Ensemble meets on Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:00 P.M. in Fellowship Hall each week under the direction of Rick Murrell and Philip VanOuse. Music prepared for our services ranges from hymn arrangements to gospel to jazzy styles. Students playing brass instruments in middle school or high school are all welcome to participate.
